Accutane
This is available in the form of pills or tablets and considered to be a best medication which can be taken orally to treat the acne. It is also known as Isotretinoin. Taking this medication can leads to the miscarriage and infant death during pregnancy. So, one should first consult the doctor.
When looking at the acne treatment options for pregnant women, the grave side effects of Isotretinoin outweigh the merits. The side effects make a horrible reading and any pregnant woman would not like the mention of the names of such diseases.
You better advise any pregnant woman not to go for acne treatment having farthest connection to Isotretinoin. The side effects against which you are warned are thinning of hair, red itchy eyes, dry skin and dry nose.
Eating a healthy diet is very important while being pregnant, but it also plays an important role in keeping your acne under control. Eating foods that are rich in fiber, staying away from sugar, and fried foods will also help you control acne breakouts.
Drinking water is vital during your pregnancy because it will help flush out those toxins and bacteria in the body, as well as help flush those things to your intestines so that your body can remove them. Be sure to drink eight to ten, eight ounce glasses a day for healthier skin.
Glycolic acid, which is the main ingredient in several over the counter face washes that are marketed for treating and preventing acne has come under question. Research has been done and top dermatologists agree that there has been no cause for concern in using these products to treat acne during pregnancy. However, the main choice lies with the woman as to whether or not she feels comfortable using these products during her pregnancy period.

The choices are many to treat acne during pregnancy. Benzoyl peroxide, AHAs, Salicylic acid and few other products may be allowed by your doctor to treat acne.
